最近才明白这句奥运会slogan什么意思,原来是描述整个中国middle classs (and/or potential middle class)的:
所有人,无论从事何种职业、年龄大小、职业规划如何,全都在同一个世界里为着同一个梦想奋斗——成为中产!——我要买车,我要买房,我要穿名牌和背名牌包,然后找个很范儿很潮的男/女朋友出席各种公众场合。
能想象吗?泱泱大国之下,从艺术家到会计师,全都为着这个梦想奋斗。
多么壮观啊… …

Very interesting quote. People always say their dream is immaterial (success, power, fame), but most people have their price. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing — people dream of having a home they can call their own, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I also think money/materialism can be a dangerous thing (though it’s necessary to survive in this life). We just need to be realistic about our needs and also our desires … and somehow try to remember what’s important.
